Research theme

Many organisation have a staff shortage, high work pressure, and changing teams. A lot of flexibility and effort is also expected of employees. Those elements lead to a request for agile and dynamic leadership in which the wellbeing of the staff is key. This programme is focussed on the collaboration within and between organisation, agile leadership, wellbeing at work, and the impact of coaching. Through practice-oriented scientific research, we want to develop efficient tools and methodologies to collaborate in the promotion of manageable and feasible work.

What are we researching and for whom? 

​​ Complex and social questions challenge superiors to work systematically and creatively on the implementation and development of their organisation. Thus it has become necessary to focus more on diverse collaboration models between organisations and disciplines.  Many organisation have to deal with a staff shortage, high work pressure, and changing teams. A lot of flexibility and effort is also expected of employees. Since the COVID19-period, employees have new expectations of employers. Those elements lead to a request for agile and dynamic leadership in which the wellbeing of the staff is key. In recent years, coaching has developed into one of the ways to offer support in this. But the impact of it has not yet been researched extensively. 

Desired outcome​​​​​​​ 

Through practice-oriented scientific research, we design efficient tools and methodologies that offer support in the aforementioned challenges. In this way, we help promoting manageable and feasible work.

Research lines

With the research programme ‘Together works’, in the next few years, we will focus on a series of approaches to strengthen and enforce superiors and staff members. We broaden our expertise on collaboration between and in organisations, leadership, coaching, and wellbeing at work.

Professionalisation of collaboration between and in organisations

With our centre of Excellence, PRONET, we focus further on research on organisation networks and ecosystems. That occurs among others in the context of sustainable mobility. We research multidisciplinary collaboration between the health supporting professions.

Agile leadership

The complex social reality challenges organisations to work systematically on the development of their organisation. How do we achieve agile leadership with attention to diversity in approach, styles and situations?

Coaching with impact

Coaching and coaching techniques in organisations know a strong growth with a big diversity. On the one hand, that is a positive evolution, yet on the other hand it creates confusion and ambiguity. Research for the impact on employees and management may provide answers.
